Sometimes when folks who share a lifetime of making things better for others, they become so engulfed in their caring, they put their own needs on hold. They’re not important, they tell people around them and, most nobly, themselves.
Asking for something for themselves is viewed as a cardinal sin. If they’re going to solicit assistance, it will be for someone who needs it — really needs It.
That’s why the story and situation of Deb Cautley needs to be shared. It’s time for us — not only friends, but Edmontonians who recognize her name — to have an opportunity to give back to Deb in a time when she needs us.
The call for help, literally, came from across the world: Edmonton Sun columnist Marty Forbes sent an email from Austria, where he is making his way back home after attending the IHHF World Junior Hockey Championship in Prague.
Marty’s email, first thing Tuesday morning, was to inform about a GoFundMe page for Deb.
Now, for some background.
